I highly recommend using the concept of copywork to make a good carousel (or any video tbh). That is - find a high performing post that’s similar to what you have in mind (not necessarily in your niche) and rebuild it with your own content. The kinds of images it used, the structure of the text on each one. Don’t copy it, but use it as a template.
Backstory carousels use a strong hook and pull the user through a story, often ending in a direct call to action or indirect product plug.
